Having a blog on the Internet that gives people somegood informaton doenst do a lot of good if peopledon’t know that its there.

If you want people to be able to find your blog,something that is important is that you have goodSearch Engine Optimization, or SEO.

Whenever you put one or more words into a search barto look for something, the SEO of a website is whathelps bring up those websites.

For example, if your blog is about Harry Potter, youare going to want to be sure that your blog includespopular terms such as Harry Pottter, JK Rowling, andother things that are related to Harry Potter.

Think about the things that people look for when theyare interested in Harry Potter, and the kinds ofthings that come up when you search.

Its always a good idea to use your own experiencewhen you are optimizing your blog for searching.

Think about what has worked, what has’nt worked, anduse them for your own blog SEO. This way, when someoneputs one of the terms that you put in your blog into asearch engine it will be one of the sites that comesup.

Of course, there are other factors that come into playthat determine where your blog will come up in thelist, but everyone starts somewhere.

The more keywords that your blog uses, the more peoplewill come to your blog. It just takes time andpatience.

Join A Community To Advertise Your Blog……….

Something that you will find, especially if you joinsomething like LiveJournal or GreatestJournal, is thatusers just like you have created communities forpeople with common interests.

There are communities for just about any subject, andif you find that there isn’t a community for thesubject you can create one. This is a great place toadvertise your blog.

The nice thing about communities is that there isn?any limit as to how many communities that you canjoin.

For example, say that you love blogging about books,horseback riding, and skiing in Tahoe. All you have todo is look through the communities for ones that havethose interests and join them.

Email Groups – Hidden Treasure Troves For Advertising A Blog

Something that has become increasingly popular sincethe Internet has grown are the email groups that areavailable through Yahoo, MSN, and other venues.

They are a great way to meet other people who have acommon interest, and are very similar to thecommunities that are available through blogging sites.

There is plenty of diverse subjects and there arecommunities for just about any subject.

These groups can be a great place for people who havea blog about the subject and want to share it withother people.

Most of the time when you join a group, you areencouraged to take a moment and to introduce yourself.This is a great opportunity to tell people about yourblog, but make certain that you don? overdo it.

Just like with any of the other places you willadvertise your blog, you want to make people want togo to your blog. If you are too overbearing, you willturn people off.

If your blog covers different subjects, you canadvertise it on the other groups that cover thosesubjects as well.

Make certain that your post to the groups isinteresting and that you let people know what it isthat your blog is about. Theres nothing worse thangetting taken to a blog under false pretences.

When people visit your blog, make certain that youthank them for visiting and respond to comments thatthey leave.

If they know that you appreciate the time that theytook, they are more likely to come back again.

Blogging Traffic – Give And Take

Blogging traffic is a give and take relationship.Sometimes one of the best ways to get traffic to yourblog is by visiting someone else’s blog.

Go to their blog and read one of their entries, orread a few of them. Chances are that you are going tofind something that you have in common.

When you find something that you find trulyinteresting on a blog, leave a comment so that theyknow that you were there.

One of the best known blogs available is LiveJournal.A great feature of LiveJournal is that you can searchfor interests on their site and it will come up withresults of those who have that interest.

Are you interested in horseback riding You can seewhat other bloggers are interested in horseback ridingas well.

When you are commenting on someones post, you want tomake sure that you don’t leave generic comment. If youlike the post, say something about what you read inthe post.

After you have commented on the person? post, thenyou can say something like, I really like horsebackriding too. I had a similar experience to yours.?andthen use it to link back to your journal.

But be sure that you sound sincere when you arecommenting, and don’t make them feel like you?e justfishing for traffic.

If someone thinks that you are using their blog to getmore traffic to yours, they won’nt visit your site andyour efforts will be wasted.

Blogging Directories – Great Advertising Venues

If you want to have more people visit your blog, thereare plenty of blog directories on the Internet thatyou can submit your blog to so that people will comeand visit it. Most blog directories are listed by thetopics that the blogs that are submited cover.

Blog Catalog is a free blog directory that offerscategories such as career and jobs, writing, Iraq, andmany others. It has features such as featured blogsand other things to offer those who submit their blogsthere.

Another great place to add your blog isblog-directory.org. Not only do they have an anextensive list of categories with sub categories, youcan get your blog reviewed. For the most popularblogs, it shows the amount of hits that blogs have andif they have any reviews. As well as listing bycategory, the blogs are also listed by location.

There are other blog directories on the Internet -these are only a ouple of them. But blog directoriesare a great place to advertise your blog and to makenew friends. You never know what you will find whenyou browsing through the directory, and you may justfind out information that you never knew. Some of theblog directories offer chat features as well, so thatyou can meet other people easily.

As you can see, blog directories are a great place toget your blog noticed and bring people to read yourblog and look at your pictures.

Blogger Forums – A Great Place To Advertise Your Blog

No matter what type of blog that you have, one of thebest places that you can advertise your blog is tojoin a blogger forum. After all, everyone who poststhere has a blog and thats the main subject.

It’s a great place to meet other bloggers and toadvertise your blog.

There are quite a few blogger forums that you can signup for on the Internet. One is known as Bloggeries,where you can show off your blog, get your blogreviewed or review other blogs, and find lots of toolsthat you can use for your own blog.

Another good place to go is to Blog Forum.

Blogger forums are a great place to advertise becauseeveryone in them are of the same mind and want to makecertain that their blogs get noticed and read.

If you use your blog to advertise something that youare selling, or you want to get a lot of traffic toyour blog in order to make money, you want to gosomeplace where it can get exposure.

When you advertise on a blog forum, you know that youare placing your advertisement in a place whereblogging is something that people enjoy.

Just remember when you are posting to a forum to readthe rules and abide by them. That way you?l get yourblog noticed and you will know that you are doing theright thing.

Advertising Your Blog In Your Email Signature

If you have a blog that you are particularly proud of,and that you want to share with other people, thereare a lot of free ways that you can get your blognoticed.

One of those ways is something that you do everyday,and that you may not even consider as a way to shareyour blog. Put the link to your blog in your emailsignature.

Chances are that you send out emails more timese thatyou can count during the day, Each time you send outan email, you can advertise your blog by putting theaddress of your blog in your email? signature.

The thing to remember about putting an adveritsementin your signature for your blog is to make it short,but eyecatching.

Just like it is with any adveritsement, you want togive them just enough to be interested and take acloser look at what it is that you are advertising.

Think about what it is that your blog is about. Whatis really going to interest people abuot it and wantto visit That is what you should include in yoursignature, and that is what is going to get people togo to your blog.

There are many ways to advertise your blog but most importan is to take advantage of as many of them as possible to drive traffic to your blog.

While its clear that social media plays a key role in any law firms online marketing campaign, the ethics rules on lawyers social media use are not so clear, licensed attorney and law firm Web content writer Greg Froom of Consultwebs.com, Inc., writes in a new blog article.

As Froom points out, guidance could be on the way soon. The American Bar Associations Ethics 20/20 Commission will issue revised model rules later this year that address online legal marketing. Also, states across the country are revisiting their rules of professional conduct and releasing new ethics advisory opinions on Web marketing issues.

In the meantime, Froom says,law firms using social media such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn can keep from running afoul of ethics rules by taking a few basic precautions.

This list isnt exhaustive and rules vary by jurisdiction, but these considerations are a good way to start thinking about the ethical implications of social media, writes Froom, an award-winning legal journalist who joined the Consultwebs.com content team in March 2012.

His article, 5 Tips to Keep Your Law Firm on Top of Social Media and Ethics, came out this week on the Consultwebs.com blog, LawWebMarketing.com.

Not too far from the capitol in DC is the sprawling expanse of Arlington Cemetery. It is a very somber place… It was just my son and I, walking around for quite a while together. I think it all made an impression on him.

We stayed so long into the evening — we were the last ones there! Except for the security guards, who walked with us as we were leaving, since they locked up behind us. It was nice, however — they took their time and let me set up for a few final shots with the tripod as the light was falling behind the storm clouds.
