In an effort to recognize those parish staff members and volunteers who have demonstrated a great commitment to ensuring their parish websites are informative and engaging, CatholicTechTalk.com announces the winners of its second annual Catholic Parish Website of the Year Contest.
CatholicTechTalk.com is an online community for Catholics passionate about technology and social media. This includes priests, laity, bloggers, writers, technologists, website developers, graphic designers, and anyone else who wishes to use technology more effectively in their ministry and personal life.
In conjunction with sponsor Liturgical Publications Inc (LPi), Catholic Tech Talk assembled a panel of judges to score the submitted websites on their quality of content, design and overall visual appeal, ease of navigation, use of technology and social media, and utilization of search optimization. The contest was open to all Catholic parishes in the United States. This years winners are:
1st Place: Immaculate Heart of Mary, Cincinnati, Ohio
2nd Place: St. Thomas More, Sarasota, Fla.
3rd Place: St. Gabriel the Archangel, St. Gabriel, La.
Each winner will receive a plaque for their parish office, and the first place winner will receive a $ 500 donation from LPi. The judges’ panel for the contest included Domenico Bettinelli, creative director for Pilot New Media in Boston; Dr. Caroline Cerveny, SSJ-TOSF, president of Interactive Connections; and Ashley Collins, co-founder and director for e-ministry of Peter and Paul Ministries.
Its exciting to see parishes taking their online ministry seriously, said Clare Zajicek, marketing content specialist at LPi and coordinator of the contest. Our winners created beautiful websites that effectively communicate with their parishioners. I thank everyone who submitted an entry, as well as our panel of judges. This contest would not be possible without them, and their time and expertise are appreciated.
